Does it block contactless card scanning?
Yes. Alpine Rivers sleeves block the 13.56 MHz signal that contactless credit, debit, ID and transit cards and e-passports use, so a reader can’t scan a sleeved card. The sleeve forms a Faraday shield verified at 13.56 MHz.
Can I still tap to pay?
Yes. Slide the card out to tap, then slide it back to shield. You stay in control of when the card can be read. There is no battery and nothing to charge; the shielding is built into the sleeve.
Can it block all types of RFID signals, like my office or hotel card?
It blocks 13.56 MHz, used by tap-to-pay cards, e-passports and newer access cards: slide out to badge in, back in to shield. Older 125 kHz proximity fobs and most car keys use a lower frequency and are not affected.
Will they fit my wallet, are they easy to use, and what is in the set?
Yes. 18 sleeves: 14 card sleeves (color-numbered on Color Edge sets) plus 4 passport sleeves. A thumb notch makes cards easy to slide in and out, and they fit bifold, trifold, slim and travel wallets. Unisex, for the whole family.
Is it durable, and why Alpine Rivers over a paper sleeve?
Yes. Paper or single-layer sleeves only weaken the signal. Alpine Rivers seals the shielding film inside a water-resistant four-layer PolyShield laminate, verified at 13.56 MHz. FIPS 201 approved in 2016, trusted by 250,000+ travelers.

Alpine Rivers RFID protection since 2015 Move freely. Live fully.
Everything else is just friction. Alpine Rivers RFID blocking sleeves have been the trusted travel companion since 2015. Verified 13.56 MHz shielding, for men and women.
Blocks Contactless Card Scanning: Alpine Rivers PolyShield sleeves block the 13.56 MHz signal used by tap-to-pay credit and debit cards, ID cards and e-passports, so readers can’t scan a sleeved card.
Discreet Professional Black: solid black sleeves slip unseen into any wallet, bag or pocket, understated and professional. 14 card sleeves plus 4 passport sleeves, slim with no bulk.
Fits Your Wallet, Protects the Family: all 14 top-load sleeves slide into bifolds, trifolds, slim and travel wallets, with a thumb notch for easy pull-out. Plus 4 passport sleeves.
Protection With a Pedigree: in 2016 our RFID-blocking material passed the US government FIPS 201 standard and joined the GSA Approved Products List (#1424). Trusted by 250,000+ travelers.
Everyday Security for Everyone: commute, festivals, the school run and travel, for men and women. Anywhere a tap-to-pay card sits in your pocket, your identity stays yours.
Durable PolyShield Construction: the shielding film is sealed inside a four-layer PolyShield laminate that keeps working from day one through years of use while staying slim and light.
