This size fits my needs as it is bigger than my smaller compact backpack.
First off, I am picky when it comes to backpacks. I don’t like too many extra straps, it needs to have good zippers, a side pocket that will hold my Stanley water bottle, and I like front pocket to keep most of my smaller items in. I really only use the main compartment for stuffing an extra sweater in or if I’m packing up for a drive and once im to my location I would remove everything I don’t need for the hike.
I suggest thinking though how you plan to use your bag before making a decision.
I do plan to add a hydration bladder to this bag and see how that goes.
What I like so far, the overall feel is of good quality both the fabric and zippers.
The size fits well, I’m 6’3” and it covers most of my back for reference. The main compartment opens almost completely up to make adding items easy.
The middle compartment is the one I use most and is quite big. This pack also has a slim front compartment (which I didn’t realize when I ordered it) that is the depth of the pack. You would probably use it to stuff a layer of clothes in or something.
I also like the straps they have a lot of padding and feel durable.
The last thing I like is waste strap is minimal and the best part is it’s removable! It’s hard to find a pack this size that doesn’t have a big waste strap.
